Kashmiri Kinnow Orange Grafted Lemon Fruit Plant

Out of stock

Kashmir Kinnow oranges, botanically classified as Citrus reticulata, are a Japanese hybrid variety of the rue family. The fruits are large, with an average diameter of 8 to 10 centimeters and a round, oval to flattened shape with a characteristic protruding, ridged neck. Dekopon oranges give off a pleasant aroma when peeled because essential oils are released through pores on the surface. The pulp is known for its high sugar content, ranging from 13 to 18 degrees Brix. This high sugar content blends with a low acidity of less than 1 percent citric acid to create a rich, sweet flavor without the tart, spicy undertones often found in other orange varieties.

Think of your lemon plants as your citrus friends who appreciate a little TLC. Here is a quick maintenance guide:

  1. Sunlight: They love full sun. Give them as much sunlight as possible.
  2. Watering: Keep the soil constantly moist. Water when the top centimeter is dry, but avoid flooding.
  3. Soil: Well-drained soil is essential. Do not allow the roots to become waterlogged.
  4. Container care: If potted, make sure they have drainage holes. Potted plants may need more frequent watering.
  5. Pruning: Light pruning to shape and remove dead wood. Helps maintain a healthy and productive plant.
  6. Fertilization: Feed them with a balanced citrus fertilizer during the growing season (spring and summer). However, do not overdo it.
  7. Watch for pests: Watch for pests, especially aphids and mealybugs. Treat immediately if you spot any.
  8. Frost Protection: If you are in a frost prone area, protect them during cold nights.
  9. Harvest: When life gives you lemons, pick them! Pick them when they are yellow and ripe.
  10. Love and warmth: Lastly, give them some love and warmth. These plants thrive when they feel cared for.

Follow these tips and your lemon plants will reward you with the delicious goodness of home-grown citrus!
