Lemon plant grafted from Jaffa orange

Out of stock

The Shamouti orange tree is a vigorous growing tree that forms slightly curved branches.

It is very cold tolerant and produces a fragrant, sweet, nearly seedless orange that ripens in early winter.

The fruit is medium-sized and easy to peel because the skin is thick and the fruit is also easy to segment. It is a good all-rounder for eating and juicing.

Typically, our trees should bear fruit in the second autumn after planting, provided they are well cared for and provided with optimal conditions.

Think of your lemon plants as your citrus friends who appreciate a little TLC. Here is a quick maintenance guide:

  1. Sunlight: They love full sun. Give them as much sunlight as possible.
  2. Watering: Keep the soil constantly moist. Water when the top centimeter is dry, but avoid flooding.
  3. Soil: Well-drained soil is essential. Do not allow the roots to become waterlogged.
  4. Container care: If potted, make sure they have drainage holes. Potted plants may need more frequent watering.
  5. Pruning: Light pruning to shape and remove dead wood. Helps maintain a healthy and productive plant.
  6. Fertilization: Feed them with a balanced citrus fertilizer during the growing season (spring and summer). However, do not overdo it.
  7. Watch for pests: Watch for pests, especially aphids and mealybugs. Treat immediately if you spot any.
  8. Frost Protection: If you are in a frost prone area, protect them during cold nights.
  9. Harvest: When life gives you lemons, pick them! Pick them when they are yellow and ripe.
  10. Love and warmth: Lastly, give them some love and warmth. These plants thrive when they feel cared for.

Follow these tips and your lemon plants will reward you with the delicious goodness of home-grown citrus!
